Summer Heat

For the Summer 2011 Quarter, Gallery Concord announces its newest show “Summer Heat,” which will run from June 30, 2011, to September25, 2011.

The opening night reception is Friday, July 8th from 6:00to 8:00 p.m. Light refreshments and beverages will be served, and music will be provided by the singer/songwriter Rick Hardin.


The “Summer Heat” show will feature Marilyn Miller, a watercolor artist from Moraga, California. Marilyn has long been an art enthusiast, beginning with study and appreciation of art history. In 2003 she began the transition from appreciating art masters to producing her own paintings. By taking workshops from well-known artists including Charles Reid, Tony Van Hasselt, Jerry Stitt, RonRanson, Karen Mason, Mike Bailey, and especially Karen Frey, she has steadily elevated her watercolors to new heights with a dedication to further developing her own style in watercolors.

Marilyn is an active member of the California Watercolor Association.She has served two years as Vice-President of the organization. Shehas also co-chaired the CWA 39th and 40th National Exhibitions and assisted with the 41st. She is currently the Budget Director for CWA.Marilyn’s work has been accepted in many local and national shows including recent American Watercolor Society 144th Annual Exhibition and Traveling Exhibition for 2011-2012.




Our guest artists for the Summer Show are Rhu A Bigay (Oil painting)

and Jim Rodgers (Wood and Ceramic artist). Also showing will beartworks by all the Gallery Concord members with different styles ofwatercolor paintings.
